What is the Human Resources Department?

The mission of the Human Resources Department is to provide the City and its residents with a competent well-trained workforce that supports and promotes the municipality's ability to run effectively. We engage in hiring, recruiting and retaining skilled, motivated individuals. We strive to enforce fair labor practices. We manage employee benefits (insurances, deferred compensation plan, attendance). We establish and monitor policies and procedures. We coordinate and participate in collective bargaining sessions with union groups. We provide quality customer service in a friendly atmosphere while administering effective processes and practices for a positive working environment.
